Amber Taylor

Amber provides strategic communications services for a wide range of clients and organizations, focusing on launching and building communications programs for groups working on education, environmental, technology, research, labor and economic issues.

She has spent most of her career supporting nonprofits and has developed a specialty working with for-profit businesses designed for social good.

Amber started her professional career in the 1990's as an intern at Tricom; her picture on this page proves this point.

Amber provides the full range of communications services, depending on what's needed, including:

  • media pitcher
  • social media strategist
  • video producer
  • website creator
  • podcaster
  • writer and editor
  • graphic designer

Clients that Amber works with tend to stay for years because of successful partnerships that generate positive media coverage, attention on social media and marketing, and communications products that meet their needs.

Amber is a social media expert, providing advice and guidance on incorporating social media into all clients' communication plans and campaigns. In addition to managing client work, she provides strategic guidance and all levels of media services, including messaging, press release writing, media pitching, social media outreach, development of written and web-based materials and spokesperson training.

Amber was the director of outreach and media relations for Child Trends, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research center where she managed outreach to the media, Congress, the administration, and state and local policymakers. During her four years with Child Trends, Amber established the organization as a national source for the media and policymakers looking for unbiased data and trends on American children. Working closely with researchers, Amber helped translate social science research for media, policymakers and the public, and trained researchers to do the same.

As an account supervisor at The Rogers Group (now Rogers Rudder Finn) in Los Angeles, Amber provided day-to-day media relations counsel, as well as long-term messaging and media and event planning for the California Children and Families Commission (First 5 California) and its 58 county commissions.

Amber has an M.A. in political management from The George Washington University, and a B.A in political science and a certificate in political communications from Ohio University.
